Easy to strain off, pure hibiscus flowers are just the ticket to add an abundance a beautiful crimson colour and wonderful flavour to your probiotic masterpieces! Simply add 1/2 teaspoon of our hibiscus flowers to your second ferment for the ultimate boost! Ratio of pure hibiscus flowers is approximately 1/2 teaspoon infusion to 1 litre fermented beverage. Hibiscus flowers will add wonderful colour and flavour to your 2nd ferment, but may not result in a fizzy drink. Add them with other fruits or a touch of sugar to get the fizz you desire.
Pure Hibiscus Flowers Ingredients:
Once you have fermented your kombucha or water kefer, strain it into a thick glass bottle with an airtight lid. You must use a proper brewing bottle because some fruits can create quite a lot of fizz and you can risk the bottle breaking if it is not strong enough. Add your flavour infusion and let it sit at room temperature for a few days. Place a towel over your bottle and aim it away from you, and carefully open the lid once a day to let the gasses escape. When you are satisfied with the fizz and the taste, put it in the refrigerator to stop the fermentation process.
